You may have heard that no two snowflakes are alike...but did you know it was a Vermont farmer who discovered that?
Or that Danforth Pewter is commissioned each year by the Jericho, Vermont Historical Society to make one limited-edition design based on "Snowflake" Bentley's original photography?
In 1885, W.A. Bentley, a self-educated Vermont farmer, became the first person to photograph a single snow crystal. "Snowflake" Bentley would go on to capture more than 5000 snowflakes during his lifetime, and he never found two alike.
We hope your 2021 Snowflake Bentley necklace will serve as a year-round reminder of the astonishing detail and singularity present in every part of nature. This design is also available as an ornament, earrings, scatter pin, and zipper pull.
A portion of all sales supports the Historical Society. This necklace is not available wholesale.
