Located in the historic Church Street marketplace, Danforth Pewter's Burlington store was opened in 2004. The Church Street Marketplace is a lively place year round. Beginning the year with First Night, continuing on with the Discover Jazz festival in June and many other events happening throughout the year; our shop is located in the heart of this bustling shopping and entertainment district.

Why you should visit us in Burlington
The Church Street Marketplace is a wonderful place to spend a few hours shopping, eating or just people watching. Danforth is within walking distance of both the University of Vermont and Champlain College; because of this we see a lot of college students enjoying this special section of Burlington. Our favorite sit-down places to eat in town are Leunig’s or Farmhouse Tap and Grill; for a quick sandwich, Red Onion and for a cup of coffee it has to be Uncommon Grounds. We are surrounded by many other shops featuring Vermont made products. Within walking distance from us you’ll find Frog Hollow Craft Gallery, Simon Pearce, Lake Champlain Chocolates and Bennington Potters. If you have time, take a stroll down to the lake and enjoy some time at the Echo Lake Aquarium and Science Center (the kids will love it!). The bike path along the shores of Lake Champlain is a favorite of locals and visitors alike. And, if there’s time, squeeze in a show at the Flynn Center for the Performing arts or find one of the local breweries around town and have a tasting.

Stop in and you’ll be sure to find something to treasure. You will also find a selection of One of a Kind oil lamps. All our pieces are handmade just down the road in Middlebury Vermont.
Meet our store manager
Julie Hancy has lived in Vermont for 12 years and worked at Danforth for over 6. When she's not working, she loves sugaring on the family property, tending to her her flock of chickens, and taking her wonderful Samoyed dog on long walks through the meadows and woods she owns. Before moving to Vermont, Julie spent 13 years living in Japan, Greece, Italy and England. Julie says, "Danforth Pewter is the best company I have worked for. I love the connection to the community and the ability to sell a locally made product."
Our favorite pewter products
Our favorite pewter pieces seem to change with the seasons. But one thing is for sure, no matter what time of year it is, the piece that holds a deep personal meaning for our customers is always a favorite. Julie told us, "Whether it was an ornament, an engraved baby cup or an oil lamp that brought them specifically into our store, these handcrafted pewter designs touch them in such a special way that they want to share their story with us. Those are the moments that make our job so unique, and stay in our hearts forever."
