While the song's origins are unknown, many people hold that each gift symbolizes an important aspect of Christian faith. In this tradition, the 8 Maids a Milking represent the 8 Beatitudes, which Jesus Christ delivered during the Sermon on the Mount.
The center of this pewter ornament swivels up to 90 degrees, allowing you to add variety and dimension to your collection as it hangs in your tree.

Exceptionally Beautiful!
We ordered the entire set this year. Each one is exceptionally crafted in fine detail like a storybook. Both sides are detailed and the ornaments have a good weight to them. Our family loves to look at these and they are a special tradition of our family to have Danforth ornaments.
