I have a nativity set that i purchased some 40 years ago but the stable was very small. I wanted the creche but it was sold out so I got this one. Later the crèche became available and I purchased it. It is difficult to see the animals underneath the stable. it is well made and does go with the rest of my set.
I've been getting my wife various pieces of the Nativity set since we saw one in a store in Maine while on vacation. This year I got her the stable and a few new pewter pieces. We are both really disappointed in the stable for two reasons: 1. the stable is basically the same size as the creche. Given this is a Nativity set, I would think the creche should be the largest item and hence, the key focal point. When placed together, the two structures really compete for your attention. I suppose if you only used one or the other, this wouldn't be an issue, but I was hoping to use both at once. 2. The color of the stable is darker than the creche. This does not make it look like they are part of a set. It looks like you have a nice Nativity set and then went and bought a stable from some random website, not the same company. Again, if you only want to use one structure, there is probably no issue, but we are really disappointed in the stable and expect more from Danforth given the quality of the rest of the set (which I highly recommend).
The stable with the holy family is my go to wedding gift. Brides always comment on the originality of the gift. I've given it probably six times in the last two years.
We have the cresh and purchased the stable as a gift. It looks nice with the pewter nativity. Best with the holy family in the middle or towards the front. The roof is low in the back. Reasonable for the price which is significantly lower than the cresh. Can fit all manger pieces with some creative placement. Would recommend.
I love my stable. It looks like the one I would imagine Jesus was born in. It completes the little Nativity I have set up in the little space I have.
