Great design, but miss the old patina
I have been buying Danforth ornaments since the 1990s and they are my favorite ornaments on my tree because they have so much character and beauty. You can feel the craftsmanship that went into them. This design is one of my favorites and I have purchased it several times over the years to give as gifts. My most recent purchase this December I was somewhat disappointed to find that the old patina was gone and had been replaced by a much shinier finish, which to me cheapened the look of the ornament. Instead of a treasured heirloom it looked more like the mass-produced ornaments you find in Christmas shops. I really hope Danforth considers going back to the old look that made their pieces so special and so recognizable.
