I bought this to leave on the gravestone of a beloved niece, who left us much too soon, this Christmas season. Beautiful remembrance, beautiful craftsmanship.

Who drives Santa’s sleigh on those foggy Christmas nights? This little reindeer, of course! The red-nosed wonder-deer has been lovingly carved into a little token to join our family of netsukes.
Designed in homage to a traditional Japanese netsuke, a small animal figurine tied to the sash of a kimono, our Reindeer Netsuke ("net-skee") is a perfect token, collectible, or desk accessory. Use it as a game piece, hide it in your shadow box, or give it as a surprise to someone you love at that most special time of year.
Like all our netsukes, the Reindeer is handcrafted in our Middlebury workshop from solid pewter; his colorful red nose is hand-applied.
