We are Vermont Strong! In the wake of the July, 2023 crippling floods, we at Danforth want to support our neighbors who are rebuilding their homes, businesses, and livelihoods. That's why we're releasing this brand new Vermont Strong Keyring, handmade right here in Vermont, and donating 50% of its sales to the Vermont Disaster Recovery Fund.
The back of this Vermont Strong keychain shows the outliune of Camels Hump (as seen from the east) above an excerpt from a speech made by Calvin Coolidge while visiting Vermont after the floods of 1927.
The then-President broke from his usual taciturnity to say, "I love Vermont because of her hills and valleys, her scenery and invigorating climate, but most of all because of her indomitable people...If the spirit of liberty should vanish in other parts of the Union...it could all be replenished from the generous store held by the people of this brave little state of Vermont."
We draw on the strength in our hearts and in our communities, we forge ahead with hope and courage, and we remember that—come what may—we are Vermont Strong.
