Modeled after a traditional netsuke - a small Japanese figurine usually tied to the sash of a kimono - our Turtle Netsuke makes a wonderful game piece, addition to a fairy or gnome garden, or little friend to keep you company on your desk. It also makes a great party favor, stocking stuffer, token of appreciation, or surprise for anyone who loves turtles.
Turtles represent self-containment, creative source, earthiness, being grounded, longevity, protection, shelter, and a steady approach to life. In dreams they are interpreted as patience, wisdom, or hiding something essential.
Like all Danforth netsukes, the Turtle is handcrafted in our Middlebury workshop from solid pewter. Some netsukes are also available in select sets of three. Collect them all!

Small Turtle
I have collected bears and turtles for many years. So, when I saw this I made the purchase. He fits in with all his sisters and brothers. It is perfect for me. Quite small, polished to a shiny state, and fits well with my collection. (Which includes gnomes, other animals and a house.) I’m very pleased.

Turtle is great
Totally honest review, The turtle looks great sitting on my bookshelf. I've had it for years and it hasn't really rusted at all or anything, so I think it's totally worth the price. I got this a long time ago from someone and I only found it was sold by this website recently. Even though it had the words "Danforth USA" written on the bottom. It seems pretty durable even though it does have a couple of dents from me dropping it. Basically, I think this turtle is great for people that like small, cute things like this. lol

I purchased the turtle along with several other netsukes. I absolutely love the turtle. He is very detailed and quite charming. I decided to keep him for myself.

Just adorable
I ordered three different netsukes thinking I would probably like this one the least based on picture on site. I fell in love with all three netsukes but the turtle is my favorite. He has so much character and expression and gives off a very nice vibe. I have decided to keep him for my own though my original intent was to gift the turtle. Just love the turtle!

Turtle or tortoise?
I purchased this netsuke for a niece who has a tortoise as a pet. She loves it! So do I--I had trouble parting with it and will be buying one for myself. Danforth's tiny treasures are all beautifully detailed and finished, a pleasure to see and to hold.

I love this Turtle Netsuke, it is so cute. It looks so much better than the picture, it is very detailed. It feels so good in my hand. My grandson loves turtles, so I thought this would make a great little gift.
